NY weather: Be prepared for freezing rain and light snow in New York until Sunday night

At 5:19 p.m. on Sunday, the National Weather Service said that Onondaga, Madison, Oneida, Cortland, Chenango, Otsego, Tioga, Broome, Delaware, and Sullivan counties would have freezing rain and light snow through 11 p.m.

“This evening, a mild mix of snow, sleet, patchy freezing rain, and valley rain is falling throughout the region. The possibility of isolated icing from freezing rain will be the biggest risk, particularly over higher elevations where temperatures are in the mid 20s and low 30s. By late tonight, there will likely be 1 to 3 inches of snow on the ground, with isolated areas possibly seeing a small layer of ice. Untreated roads and surfaces may become slick as a result of this snow and ice. The weather service advises being cautious when driving or going outside this evening.

United Robots offers a service called Advance Local Weather Alerts that gathers the most recent information from the National Weather Service using machine learning.
