1 person taken to hospital from reported pedestrian crash on Staten Island: Sources

New York’s Staten Island. Early in the Wednesday morning rush hour, a pedestrian was reported to have crashed at a major crossroads in New Dorp, resulting in a person being transported to the hospital, according to sources.

According to an FDNY/EMS spokesperson, the incident was reported along Hylan Boulevard and New Dorp Lane at 5:56 a.m.

According to a source with knowledge of the situation, the victim was struck by a car at that spot while walking.

The FDNY spokesperson said that EMS sent the individual to Staten Island University Hospital in Ocean Breeze.

The FDNY did not immediately provide a condition for the individual.

Near the area was a marked NYPD vehicle.
