Man on NYC subway repeatedly punched 83-year-old victim, says NYPD

The NYPD is requesting the public’s help in locating a person who is wanted in relation to a reported attack that took place in Manhattan.

A statement issued by the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information stated that at around 6:10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 20, an 83-year-old male victim was on a southbound 5 train heading toward the Fulton Street subway station when an unnamed male individual started a verbal altercation with him.

According to police, the unnamed man then allegedly repeatedly struck the victim in the face with a closed fist before getting off the train and running away on foot in an unspecified location.

According to authorities, the victim received treatment at Kings County Hospital after suffering cuts to his face and head and traveling there privately.

The wanted person’s surveillance photo was made public by the NYPD.
