NY weather: Weather alert for light snow in Dutchess County early Monday evening

At 2:35 p.m. on Monday, the National Weather Service issued a weather notice for Dutchess County, predicting light snow through 5 p.m.

“Until 5 p.m., patches of the mid-Hudson Valley, southern Taconics, and Litchfield County in northwest Connecticut will experience periods of light snow. Even while there won’t be much snowfall—usually less than an inch—the cold ground surfaces might make travel extremely slick, especially on untreated highways. Light accumulating snow is most likely to fall over the Litchfield Hills and in areas nearest to Interstate 84, according to the weather service.
