NYPD identifies woman found fatally stabbed in West Brighton on Staten Island

New York’s Staten Island. On Tuesday night, police in West Brighton discovered a 43-year-old lady who had been fatally stabbed close to her residence.

A statement from the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information stated that Jennira Roundtree was stabbed numerous times in the chest prior to police officers arriving at approximately 7:36 p.m. on Tuesday to answer to a 911 call of an attack in the area of 820 Henderson Ave.

Roundtree resided in the West Brighton Houses complex, which is situated at the address provided by the police.

A source familiar with the investigation said the woman was killed following a multi-person altercation outside one of the complex’s buildings.

According to the police statement, EMS arrived and took Roundtree to Richmond University Medical in West Brighton, where she passed away from her wounds in what has been deemed a homicide.

According to the police statement, no one has been arrested and the investigation is still ongoing.

Police do not yet have descriptions of the suspects.

According to a source familiar with the case, authorities are looking through local surveillance footage as they try to identify the culprits who fled the scene following the deadly assault.
