At 8:32 a.m. on Wednesday, the National Weather Service released a report predicting significant snowfall in Broome County through 9:30 a.m.
“At 8:31 a.m., a band of heavy snow was along a line extending from near Newark Valley to near Lanesboro and moving southeast at 20 MPH,” according to the National Weather Service.
Binghamton, Johnson City, Endicott, Kirkwood, Conklin, Maine, Susquehanna, Susquehanna Depot, Port Dickinson, and Windsor are among the places affected by the alert. The following highway exits are included in this: New York Interstate 86/Route 17 from 69 to 81; Interstate 81 from 1 to 6; and Interstate 88 from 1 to 3.
“In winter weather conditions, conditions can rapidly deteriorate,” the weather service continues. Be ready for roads covered with ice or snow. To get to your destination, slow down and give yourself more time.
