New York’s Staten Island. On Tuesday night, police in West Brighton discovered a 43-year-old lady who had been fatally stabbed close to her residence.
Before police officers arrived at 7:35 p.m. to answer to a 911 complaint of an assault near the West Brighton Houses apartment complex at 820 Henderson Ave., Jennira Roundtree was stabbed numerous times in the chest, according to an NYPD statement.
The facility was home to Roundtree.
A source familiar with the investigation said the woman was killed following a multi-person altercation outside one of the complex’s buildings.
According to the police statement, EMS arrived and took Roundtree to Richmond University Medical Center in West Brighton, where she passed away from her wounds.
According to authorities, the investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made.
Police do not yet have descriptions of the suspects.
According to the source, authorities are looking through local surveillance footage as they try to identify the culprits who fled the scene following the deadly assault.
The stabbing is 2025’s first homicide.
