N.Y. Lottery: 2 Powerball third-prize tickets worth $50K sold in the state, including NYC

Recently, two fortunate winners in New York State—one in New York City—scored $50,000 with third-prize Powerball tickets.

The two winning tickets for the January 6 drawing matched the red Powerball and four white balls, according to the New York Lottery. At 99 C Superior Market, which is situated at 763 Rogers Ave. in Brooklyn, New York City, one ticket was sold. At Speedway, which is situated at 365 Fairview Ave. in Hudson, New York, another ticket was sold.

The drawing’s winning numbers are red Powerball 14, white balls 17, 34, 46, 66, and 67.

In the Powerball game, the winning numbers are selected from a range of 1 to 69. A different field ranging from 1 to 26 is used to select the Powerball number. Players must match the red Powerball number and all five white balls in any order to win the jackpot.

Every day of the week, Powerball tickets are available for $2 at any New York Lottery shop. On draw nights, tickets must be purchased by 10 p.m.

The New York Lottery encourages players to purchase tickets in advance to avoid last-minute lineups for the drawings, which take place every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 11 p.m.
