Family-friendly fun on Staten Island this weekend: Museum storytime, craft a vision board and more

New York’s Staten Island This weekend, take advantage of a number of fascinating events, such as meeting characters at the JCC of Staten Island, winter nature crafting at Blue Heron Park, and storytime at The Noble Maritime Collection.

Saturday

Storytime at Noble, January 11, 2–2:30 p.m.

Take your adults to the museum to hear tales about ships, the sea, pirates, and mermaids! Every week, hear a new story from a treasure box of books or listen to staff favorites! Families are welcome to arrive early or stay late to color, play games, and view the artwork and model ships in the galleries.

Sunday

Nature Crafts for Winter, January 12, 10–11 a.m.

Make a natural project with a winter theme by drawing inspiration from the park! Everything you need will be provided; all you need to do is bring your imagination and good energy.

The Blue Heron Nature Center is located at 222 Poillon Avenue in Blue Heron Park.

Breakfast with Character, January 12, 10–11:30 a.m.

Come enjoy an exciting morning with your favorite characters at the JCC of Staten Island! Savor a light breakfast, meet-and-greets with characters, and fun games and activities. Adults must remain to watch over the kids.Register here for the event.

Children’s admission fees are $12 for members and $15 for non-members.

The Greenbelt Nature Center offers a vision board creation service. Cut and paste words and pictures that motivate you to pursue your objectives, whether they be related to your relationships, job, health, or anything else.
