Staten Island HS wrestling: Two grapplers from Farrell and one each from MSIT and Sea still alive in Eastern States Classic

New York’s Clifty Park — After the opening day of the Eastern States Classic at Impact Center on Friday, four wrestlers from Staten Island are still alive.

Brennan Sprague (116 pounds) and Lucas Tait (138), Amirjon Kholmatov (116) of McKee/Staten Island Tech, and Ed Tunyla (170) of St. Joseph by-the-Sea will return on Saturday to compete in the prestigious event, which is regarded as one of the most competitive high school wrestling tournaments in the Northeast, with over 600 wrestlers from 12 different states.
