Cheese puffs sold in New York recalled for serious health risk

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has recalled cheese puffs that were distributed in the state of New York due to a significant health risk.

Herr Foods Inc.’s Wegmans Jalapeno Baked Cheese Puffs were recalled because they included unreported flavor enhancers and additives, including sodium diacetate, disodium inosinate, disodium guanylate, monosodium glutamate (MSG), and spice extract.

The FDA recently designated the recall as a Class II recall, despite the fact that it was started last month.

The government claims that these recalls indicate that there is a remote chance of major adverse health effects or that using or being exposed to a violating product may result in short-term or medically recoverable adverse health consequences.

Although the FDA deems the flavor enhancers and additives in this product safe, food labels are required to include all components.

Over 10,000 goods sold at Wegman shops in the state of New York are affected by this recall.

The recall is still in effect. If a consumer experiences an unpleasant reaction, they can notify the FDA.
