Corn puff snacks recalled for risk of serious allergic reaction

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced a recall of corn puff snacks due to an unreported allergy that may cause severe or fatal responses.

Due to the presence of unreported milk, Wismettac Asian Foods Inc. is recalling 2.46-ounce packets of Shirakiku brand Curvee Puffs Corn Puff Snack Curry Flavor.

The FDA recall notice warned that consuming those goods could result in a serious or fatal allergic reaction for people who have a milk allergy or severe sensitivity.

The UPC code 07441078512, which is found on the rear right side of the product package, is attached to the flexible bag in which the product is packaged. The recall letter said that all lot codes or date codes were impacted by this problem.

The goods were sold in restaurants, retail establishments, and internet companies around the country.

According to the FDA, no illnesses have been linked to this problem to date.

After it was found that the product contained milk, an unreported allergy, the recall was started. On January 10, 2025, the product was last distributed in the marketplace.

Customers who have already bought the goods are encouraged to return it for a complete refund to the retailer.
