NY weather update: Lake effect snow warning affecting New York until Wednesday morning

At 5:35 p.m. on Tuesday, the National Weather Service issued an updated lake effect snow warning for Wyoming, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, and Erie counties, which would remain in force until Wednesday at 10 a.m.

The weather service says, “Think about postponing your trip. If you have to travel, drive very carefully. Give yourself more time to get to your destination and give yourself plenty of space between you and the car in front of you. Steer clear of abrupt acceleration or braking, and exercise extra caution when turning or going up slopes. Until the weather improves, you should remain inside. Wear layers if you must go outside. A bulky coat won’t keep you as warm as multiple layers of clothing. To lower the risk of hypothermia or frostbite, cover any exposed skin. Wearing a hat, scarf, and gloves will prevent you from losing body heat.

United Robots offers a service called Advance Local Weather Alerts that gathers the most recent information from the National Weather Service using machine learning.
