New York’s Staten Island. According to a department spokesman, an NYPD officer was hurt early Tuesday morning while responding to a person who was dozing off inside a car in Annadale.
According to the spokesperson, the incident happened at roughly 1:35 a.m. when the officer went to check on the driver near Amboy Road and Arden Avenue.
The spokeswoman said that the driver woke up, disobeyed the police, and ran away when the officer got close to the vehicle. A tire drove over the arriving officer’s foot as the driver of the vehicle took off.
According to the NYPD, the cop suffered a minor foot injury and was taken to a nearby hospital.
According to the NYPD spokeswoman, no one has been taken into custody and the department is looking for a gray Chevrolet car related to the incident.
