New York’s Staten Island. Early on Monday morning, the FDNY stated that two firemen were slightly hurt while fighting a fire at a Tottenville commercial building in below-freezing temperatures and snow.
According to an FDNY/EMs spokesperson, the incident was reported at 2:18 a.m. at 5275 Arthur Kill Road between Tracy Avenue and Wood Avenue.
According to the FDNY spokesman, the fire was contained in less than an hour, at 3:07 a.m., after about 12 units and 60 fire and EMS personnel responded.
FDNY fire marshals are investigating the fire.
Freezing temperature over 3 inches of snow
On Martin Luther King Jr. Day Monday, everyone who goes outside faces the dangers of snow and ice, as well as temperatures below freezing on Staten Island and around New York City.
Our town received inches of white powder from Sunday’s blizzard.
By approximately 10 p.m. on Sunday, the National Weather Service predicted that Staten Island will have 3.5 inches of snow in New Dorp and 2.6 inches in Westerleigh.
