2 charged in scary beatdown on Staten Island; victim suffered punctured lung, cops say

New York’s Staten Island. According to the authorities, two guys, ages 18 and 29, were among a gang that stabbed and assaulted a person in Port Richmond, leaving the victim with a punctured lung and a head wound that needed to be closed with staples.

According to a source with knowledge of the investigation, the victim was a guy, age 31, who was unknown to the defendants.

According to the criminal complaint and police, Stapleton residents Jordi Montalvo, 18, and Eggardo Neri, 29, were taken into custody on January 13 in relation to the beatdown that took place on December 28 at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Port Richmond Avenue close to New Street.

The lawsuit claims that Neri, of Thompson Street, and Montalvo, of Wright Street, were among a group of people who punched and kicked the victim.

According to authorities, a person who is still at large repeatedly stabbed the victim in the side, head, and back with a sharp object.

The victim sustained cuts, bleeding, bruises, swelling, redness, and severe discomfort all over his body in addition to the punctured lung and head damage.

According to the complaint, Montalvo and Neri attempted to seriously injure the victim while working with a number of other unidentified people.

The defendants have entered a not guilty plea to the allegations of harassment, assault, attempted assault, and gang assault.

Montalvo’s attorney, Alexsis Barravecchia, chose not to comment at this time.

A request for comment from Neri’s lawyer was not immediately answered.

According to public records, Montalvo and Neri are both free on bond of $20,000 and $10,000 in cash, and they are expected to return to Criminal Court in St. George on April 3.
