Just weeks after the Federal Aviation Administration removed temporary flying limits imposed in response to thousands of similar sightings late last year, reports of additional unexplained drone sightings have surfaced around the Northeast, according to NBC News.
As previously reported by the Staten Island Advance/SILive.com, the sightings led to airport closures in New York, New Jersey, and other neighboring states in November and December.
When drone sightings started to rise again from Connecticut to New Jersey, the FAA temporarily restricted flights from December to January 19, according to NBC.
U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer confirmed the drones’ return on Sunday, according to NBC, stating, “We have now seen new drone sightings.” We will need to investigate it.
In response to the problem, President Donald Trump said, “I would like to find out what it is and tell the people.” He instructed his chief of staff to investigate the situation last week.
