NY weather: Special weather statement issued for Orange and Putnam counties until Friday midday

At 9:57 a.m. on Friday, the National Weather Service issued a special weather statement that would be in force for Orange and Putnam counties until noon.

“The rest of this morning will see sporadic light rain, but because temperatures are close to freezing, the rain may still freeze on untreated surfaces into lunchtime in some places. Roads, bridges, and sidewalks may become slick at this time. The weather office says there is no chance of freezing rain this afternoon as temperatures continue to rise gradually.

United Robots offers a service called Advance Local Weather Alerts that gathers the most recent information from the National Weather Service using machine learning.
