NY weather: Winter weather advisory for New York for Thursday

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for Broome, Delaware, and Sullivan counties on Tuesday at 2:43 p.m., which is in effect for Thursday between 4 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Precipitation is predicted to be mixed. According to the weather service, there could be up to two inches of total snow and sleet accumulations and up to a tenth of an inch of ice accumulation. As the morning wears on, a wintry mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain will move from the southwest to the northeast. The precipitation will start off as snow.
