N.Y. Lottery: Mega Millions second-prize ticket worth $1M sold in NYC

The Mega Millions game in New York City recently sold a ticket for the $1 million second prize.

The New York Lottery declared that one ticket for the Tuesday, February 4 drawing that won the second prize had been sold.

It was offered for sale at Manhattan’s Lucky Corner, 200 W 96th St.

The following were the winning numbers from Tuesday’s drawing: Mega Ball 1, 14, 24, 31, 53, and 54.

The Mega Millions game selects the winning numbers from a range of 1 to 70. A different field ranging from 1 to 25 is used to select the Mega Ball number. Players must match the gold Mega Ball number and all five white balls in any order to win the jackpot.

Tickets for the Mega Millions are available for $2 every day of the week at any New York Lottery outlet. On draw nights, tickets must be purchased by 10 p.m.

The New York Lottery encourages players to purchase tickets in advance to avoid last-minute lineups for the Tuesday and Friday drawing.

This year, the Mega Millions lottery game is formally increasing the cost of its tickets to $5. A press statement from Mega Millions states that starting in April, tickets will cost $5 each play instead of the current $2 per play.

Mega Millions is also preparing for a significant makeover, as new and enhanced games will be released in the same month as the price adjustment.

Every play will have an integrated multiplier that automatically increases every non-jackpot win by two, three, four, five, or ten times, up to a maximum of $10 million, for matching the five white balls.

Additionally, the game will no longer offer breakeven prizes, so if a player wins, their winnings will always exceed their ticket price.

Through the New York Lottery app, players can safely check their tickets.
