“100 Zeroes” initiative aims to influence young viewers’ perceptions of technology
Google is funding a new film and television initiative aimed at reshaping how young audiences view the tech industry — and the company itself. According to a report from Business Insider, the project, called 100 Zeroes, seeks to foster more positive sentiment toward Google’s products and emerging technologies like AI and XR.
Rather than distribute content through its own platforms — such as YouTube or a proprietary streaming service — Google reportedly plans to partner with established studios for distribution, signaling a broader ambition to reach mainstream audiences.
In a statement, Google clarified that it is not launching an in-house production studio. Instead, the company’s Platforms & Devices team is collaborating with Range Media Partners, a Hollywood talent and production firm, to support creators in incorporating advanced tech tools into their storytelling.
“We’re working with Range to assist the creative community in integrating cutting-edge technologies and platforms, like XR and AI, into their filmmaking,” a Google spokesperson said.
The effort marks a shift in strategy for the tech giant, which is increasingly under public and regulatory scrutiny. With growing concerns around data privacy, algorithmic bias, and the societal impact of AI, Google appears to be taking a page from the entertainment industry to help reframe the narrative.
