Young, who was at Woolery’s house when he said he wasn’t feeling well and needed to lie down, was described by TMZ as a longtime friend of Woolery’s. Woolery returned to the room shortly after, saying he was having difficulty breathing, Young said TMZ. According to the website, Woolery did not arrive, but Young claimed that an ambulance had been summoned.

From 1975 to 1981, Woolery hosted Wheel of Fortune. From 1984 to 1990, and for an additional season in 1993, he hosted Scrabble. Perhaps his most well-known role was hosting Love Connection from 1983 until 1994.
In addition to his musical career, Woolery was a member of the folk song group The Bordermen and the psychedelic pop group The Avant-Garde, which achieved a top 40 hit with Naturally Stoned in 1968.
Before beginning his career’s main focus, presenting the gameshows, Woolery also had a stint as a solo artist and performed in a few plays.
