In the event that Donald Trump is elected president, celebrities have been threatening to flee the country for years.
At least one famous person in Hollywood seems to be keeping her word.
According to a person close to Ellen DeGeneres, Trump is to blame for the couple’s move to England, as reported by The Wrap. The couple listed their estate in California for sale.
According to the story, DeGeneres has relocated to the remote region of south-central England known as the Cotswolds. According to The Wrap, DeGeneres owns additional properties in California; however, it is unknown what the comedian intends to do with them.
But according to Fox News Digital, the house was sold in August before the election. According to a source cited by Fox News, the couple decided to leave because of Trump’s reelection.
It’s unclear if the August house transaction was related to preparations to relocate overseas.
Reposting Taylor Swift’s Instagram endorsement, DeGeneres declared her support for Vice President Kamala Harris in September. In reference to Vice President-elect JD Vance, she continued, “This childless cat lady couldn’t agree more.”
