Country music star faces serious charges after weekend arrest

Fans are talking about country singer Jamey Johnson’s arrest over the weekend as more information surfaces, and things don’t seem good for the In Color star.

Johnson may potentially be facing some significant jail time, depending on how the authorities decide to handle the case. The event has left admirers wondering what the award-winning artist will do next, even if the whole tale is still being told.

According to sources that referenced the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Johnson, 49, got himself in hot trouble over the weekend after being caught and charged with narcotics possession and speeding just outside of Nashville.

On November 17, the singer of Midnight Gasoline, who just released his first album in years, was allegedly pulled over in Williamson County. When authorities claim to have found drugs in his hands, the situation became more heated. Johnson was taken into custody and charged with both crimes.

Fans were taken aback when his bond was set at a hefty $500,000, causing them to worry what the country music star’s future holds. Authorities said the event is still being investigated, but they are not yet disclosing any details.

Johnson was accused under a Tennessee law that considers possession of marijuana weighing between half an ounce and ten pounds to be a Class E felony, according to Whiskey Riff. Johnson faces a maximum sentence of six years in jail and a $5,000 fine if found guilty.

On February 6, 2025, at 1 p.m., the country music icon is expected to appear in court. Followers and admirers are keeping an eye on everything.
