Mercury Rising, a rock group, will open the holiday season this weekend in Fort Wadsworth and New Dorp

New York’s Staten Island. Rock band Mercury Rising will play at the Bay Street Tavern over Thanksgiving weekend, just in time for the holidays.

The tavern, which is situated at 1384 Bay Street in Fort Wadsworth, will host their show on Friday, Nov. 29 at 9 p.m.

Mercury Rising will then play at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30 at the Bravo Pizza Sports Bar, located at 413 New Dorp Lane.

The band’s members are Elissa Montanti on lead vocals, Nat Seeley on drums and vocals, Michael McMahon on lead guitar and vocals, and Bert Kramer on bass. They perform a variety of songs, including originals, blues, and soft country in addition to classic rock.

Every month, they make an appearance at the Bay Street Tavern, which serves as their home base. Since the closure of Larry Liedy’s Shore Inn in New Brighton, it has been referred to be the new center of the music scene.

Montanti, the creator and director of the Global Medical Relief Fund, finds solace in her writing and music, and she maintains a healthy balance.
