New York’s Staten Island. Ali Rose Modica was an ordinary four-year-old girl. She loved being the big sister to two newborn brothers while attending a nearby preschool.
She also didn’t have any past health issues.
However, the toddler had to be taken from the Jersey Shore Medical Center to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in January after being put on a ventilator.
Her chances of survival were 65%, according to the doctors.
The unexpected onset of Ali Rose’s illness was brought on by complications from the influenza virus.
Ali Rose was intended to be flown to the hospital in Philadelphia, but her parents, Dalainna and Joseph, claim that because it was snowing, she had to be driven. They wasted valuable time.

The Modica family’s life would change on this day when Ali Rose suffered a heart arrest upon arrival.
Ali Rose’s body suffered after being rendered unconscious and placed on an extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) machine, particularly her heart, lungs, and kidneys.
She overcame the odds, though, and her organs are now operating at full capacity.
Her cardiac arrest caused hypoxic brain injury as a result of the trauma to her body, which impacted her speech, functioning, and motor skills.

Ali’s parents, who currently reside in Old Bridge, New Jersey, after previously residing in Richmond, preserved their daughter’s cord blood upon delivery.
They are currently looking for medical experts and further details regarding stem cell research for non-traumatic brain injury.
WAYS FOR OTHERS TO ASSIST
The Modicas are optimistic that after learning about their little girl’s predicament, medical experts who specialize in stem cell research in the field of hypoxic brain injury after cardiac arrest will come forward.
In order to give five-year-old Ali Rose the opportunity she deserves to speak, walk, and be independent once more, they are also searching for any grant programs or funds that could support the cause.
