NY weather: Wind advisory issued for New York for Thursday

At 9:29 p.m. on Wednesday, the National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for Yates, Seneca, Cayuga, Steuben, Schuyler, Chemung, Tompkins, Tioga, Broome, Delaware, and Sullivan counties that would be in effect from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday.

Additionally, the weather service states that “west winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph are expected.”

“Unsecured objects will be buffeted by gusty gusts. According to the weather service, “a few power outages may result and tree limbs could be blown down.” Strong winds like these can make driving challenging, particularly for well-known cars. Be especially careful.
