NYC Weather: Rain and warmer temps possible for Tri-State area this week

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. New York, get ready for an unpredictable weather week.

The high of 51 degrees today was a pleasant diversion from the cold of the previous few days, and the unusually high temperatures will persist throughout the workweek.

It will be a pleasant fifty degrees tomorrow, so don’t forget to pack an umbrella. According to the AccuWeather website, intermittent rainstorms will be passing over the region starting in the late morning hours. Additionally, don’t rule out fog tomorrow evening.

With more rain slinking in Tuesday night and continuing into most of Wednesday, Tuesday will move up just a bit to 52 degrees.

According to the AccuWeather website, floods may result from Tuesday through Wednesday night’s rain.

Downpours can slow morning and evening commutes in places like Washington, Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York, and Boston. They can also result in localized flooding, according to an AccuWeather article written by AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Bill Deger.

Amid the rain, Wednesday’s high will reach a comfortable 58 degrees before plummeting to a clear and cold 33 degrees that evening.

However, Thursday does not crawl out of the 30s. As the sun emerges from behind some clouds, the high temperature of 39 degrees will provide a welcome break from the rain.

Before the weekend timidly climbs back up to warmer temperatures, Friday will be similar in terms of sun and coolness, peaking at 37 degrees. The temperature will hover around 40 degrees on Saturday and 50 degrees on Sunday. Unfortunately, the amount of sun diminishes as the temperature rises.
