New York’s Staten Island. Major roads in our area are experiencing delays due to the clumsy Tuesday morning rush hour caused by fog and wet roads.
AccuWeather.com reports that during the morning rush hour, commuters will encounter precipitation, fog, and temperatures in the 40s.
The rain on Monday had already drenched the roads.
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey reports that traffic is backed up onto the Outerbridge Crossing from the West Shore Expressway.
There has been a reduction in the Goethals Bridge to Staten Island delays. The Port Authority said that the Goethals were clogged by traffic from the Staten Island Expressway.
511 NY reports that traffic is jammed on the Staten Island Expressway, Brooklyn headed, between Forest Avenue to Willowbrook Road, as well as on the approach to the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge.
Many areas of our borough, notably Howard Avenue on Grymes Hill and the intersection of Howard and Clove Road, are said to be covered in dense fog.
After the morning rush hour, the fog may clear and the misty rain may stop, but gloomy skies are predicted to persist throughout the day. According to AccuWeather.com, rain showers might start up again after the evening commute and last through the night.
