N.Y. Lottery: Powerball second-prize winner claims $1M in one-time lump sum

According to lottery authorities, a corporation that participated in the New York Lottery has won $1 million for correctly matching the first five numbers in a Powerball drawing.

On April 22, the AA2002 Limited Liability Company (LLC), based in Sylvan Beach, matched the numbers on a ticket bought at Wegmans, which is situated at 7952 Brewerton Rd. in Cicero.

The winning numbers were Powerball 1, 12, 16, 33, 39, and 52.

Following the necessary withholdings, the LLC chose to receive a single lump-sum payment of $651,000.

In the Powerball game, the winning numbers are selected from a range of 1 to 69. A different field ranging from 1 to 26 is used to select the Powerball number. Players must match the red Powerball number and all five white balls in any order to win the jackpot.

Every day of the week, Powerball tickets are available for $2 at any New York Lottery shop. On draw nights, tickets must be purchased by 10 p.m.

The New York Lottery encourages players to purchase tickets in advance to avoid last-minute lineups for the drawings, which take place every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 11 p.m.

Through the New York Lottery app, players can safely check their tickets.
