Source: Woman stabbed in Berry Houses on Staten Island knew her attacker

New York’s Staten Island. Police say a 26-year-old woman who was stabbed at the Berry Houses on Wednesday is in stable condition.

A person with knowledge of the inquiry claims that the victim and suspect were acquainted before the alleged attack inside a building within the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) complex.

A representative for the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information stated that the incident was reported at 30 Dongan Hills Ave. at approximately 2:46 p.m.

The perpetrator stabbed the 26-year-old woman in the stomach and chest with an unidentified instrument. She was taken to Staten Island University Hospital in Ocean Breeze by EMS in a stable condition.

According to police, the suspect was a dark-skinned man wearing a blue mask, black trousers, and a postal jacket. He ran off in an unidentified direction in a black BMW.

The police spokesperson stated that the investigation is still ongoing and that no arrests have been made.
