New York’s Staten Island. A suspect has been taken into custody in relation to a tragic attack that occurred in New Springville overnight, the NYPD said Sunday afternoon.
According to authorities, Daniel Perez, 34, fatally stabbed another guy at his house on Sunday morning.
Authorities have charged Perez with several offenses, including murder.
The fatal event happened at his residence on the 400 block of Travis Avenue, according to the police.
At approximately 1:44 a.m. on Sunday, officers received a 911 call informing them of an attack.When police arrived, they discovered that the victim had been stabbed in the torso.
According to the police statement, EMS declared the subject dead at the site.
According to officials, Perez was charged with second-degree murder as well as second-degree criminal use of a firearm.
Less than twelve hours after the event, police made the arrest public.
Authorities have not yet made the victim’s identity public as of this writing.

When police responded to a 911 report for an assault at Bay and Wave streets on Wednesday at approximately 4:40 p.m., they discovered Desuan Javon Baker Dunning, a father and husband from Gravesend in Brooklyn, mortally injured less than a week ago.
The deadly stabbing that occurred Sunday morning is the eighth homicide that has been reported on Staten Island this year.
According to NYPD CompStat data, 19 homicides had already occurred at this stage of 2023.
