New York’s Staten Island Drivers should expect to pay extra to use the Port Authority crossings, such as the Outerbridge Crossing and the Goethals and Bayonne bridges, as we enter the first full week of 2025.

Most drivers will pay $14.06 to enter New York during off-peak hours as a result of the recent changes. Drivers will be charged $16.06 during peak hours.
The Port Authority’s website states that peak hours for all personal vehicles are from 6 to 10 a.m. and 4 to 8 p.m. on weekdays and from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekends. Any further times not specified are regarded as off-peak.
The Staten Island Bridges discount scheme will also increase by 4.4% for borough residents.
As long as they make at least three trips across Port Authority bridges in a month, Staten Islanders who are registered in the program will pay $8.03 per trip, regardless of the time of day.

Additionally, it’s possible that other bridges this year will cost more than Port Authority bridges.
Although there are no formal plans, the MTA approved a budget at the end of December that may result in an increase in tolls in August.
The rise was described as procedural by MTA Chair and CEO Janno Lieber, who noted that the transit body normally authorizes 4% raises in its budget plan every two years to keep up with rising expenditures.
The MTA head however underlined that this is by no means final and that substantial activity would be required before it could be put into effect.
