If you’ve been holding onto a Samsung flagship from 2021 or 2022, good news: Android 15 and One UI 7 are finally making their way to your device. Following earlier rollouts to 2023 and newer models, Samsung has now extended its latest software update to older generations — including the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S22, and other eligible models.
📲 How to Get the Update
To check if the update is available for your phone or tablet:
Go to Settings > Software Update > Download and install.
Your device will search for the latest software and prompt you to download it if eligible. The update is roughly 5GB, so make sure you have enough free storage before proceeding.
The installation process might take about 20 minutes, during which your phone will be temporarily unusable — one reason Samsung often schedules it for overnight by default. You can manually install it sooner if preferred.
🕐 What to Expect
The update experience varies slightly by device. For example, one Galaxy S22 Ultra user reported that the download took around 15 minutes, but the installation was automatically scheduled for 2:18 AM — with the option to install immediately if desired. Just be sure your device is charged or plugged in before starting the process.
📅 Who’s Next in Line?
In addition to the 2021–2022 flagships, Samsung has begun rolling out One UI 7 to the Galaxy S24 FE. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S23 FE is still waiting — but is expected to receive the update in the coming weeks.
Midrange users, you’re not far behind. The Galaxy A series and select tablets are scheduled as follows:
🗓️ May
- Galaxy A34, A36, A16
- Galaxy Quantum 4 & 5
- Galaxy Tab S8, Tab S9
🗓️ June
- Galaxy A53, A33, A25, A24, A15
- Galaxy Tab A9, A0 Plus
- Galaxy Tab Active 5
- Galaxy Tab S9 FE

⚠️ Final Tips
- Back up your data before updating, just in case.
- Charge your phone to at least 50% (or keep it plugged in).
- Be prepared for a short downtime while the installation runs.
With One UI 7, Samsung continues its strong support track record — even for slightly older devices. Stay tuned for additional rollout waves in the coming weeks.
