New York’s Staten Island. According to an NYPD spokesman on Saturday morning, the 84-year-old man who was hit by a car Friday night while crossing a Tottenville street is still in critical condition.
According to the FDNY, the incident happened along Amboy Road and Fisher Avenue at approximately 6:58 p.m., the spokesperson said.
According to police, the 84-year-old pedestrian halted in the southbound travel lane when he was crossing Amboy Road in the middle of a block between Fisher Avenue and Wood Avenue.
According to authorities, he was hit at that very moment by a 2017 Buick Regal driven south on Amboy Road by an 80-year-old woman.
According to the FDNY, EMS arrived on the scene and sent the man in serious condition to Staten Island University Hospital in Prince’s Bay.
As of Saturday morning, an NYPD official stated that the driver of the car was still at the site and that no one has been arrested in this case.
The inquiry is still under progress.
Living just across from the scene of the collision, Derek DeHorta expressed his astonishment that such an incident occurred on Amboy Road.
He claimed that since last week, this has been crazy. You can tell there has been a lot of traffic and issues in this street specifically since there have been people honking, yelling at one another, and wheels screeching. Therefore, I’m not surprised that something actually occurred.
This most recent occurrence is the third time this week that a pedestrian on Staten Island has been hit by a car.
Kathleen Murphy, 64, of Willowbrook, was murdered Wednesday morning when she was struck by an automobile on the grounds of Staten Island University Hospital in Ocean Breeze.
Carl Calabro, 60, of Tompkinsville, was killed a few hours later at approximately 4:35 p.m. when he was struck by a school bus while crossing the roadway in the middle of the street during the Wednesday evening rush hour in St. George.
