NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Recent developments in a long-standing case have shed light on a shooting incident that rattled Nashville’s Berry Hill neighborhood back in February. Authorities have announced the arrest of a Georgia man suspected of involvement in the altercation that left a resident injured.
Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) officials revealed that 25-year-old Devin Lauderdale, identified as a key figure in the investigation, has been apprehended in Atlanta. Lauderdale, previously wanted in connection with the February 7th shooting on Hillview Heights, is now in custody.
The incident unfolded when the victim while walking home from work, was confronted by individuals traveling in a Hyundai Elantra. Eyewitnesses reported that the driver of the vehicle exited, pursued the victim on foot, and subsequently fired shots, injuring him in the hip and arm. Lauderdale, identified as the passenger, swiftly took control of the vehicle and fled the scene upon the shooter’s return, according to investigators.
While the victim’s injuries were not life-threatening, the incident sent shockwaves through the community. Despite Lauderdale’s capture, MNPD emphasizes that the investigation remains active and ongoing. Plans are underway to extradite him to Nashville, where he will face charges of attempted criminal homicide.
