At the top of University Place the Silver Lake Park Field House | Then and Now

New York’s Staten Island — The Parks Department owns a stunning brick home at the top of University Place, with a view of the Silver Lake Golf Course. On April 20, 1930, the Silver Lake Golf Course was formally opened at this location. A gathering of men, women, and kids can be seen in the accompanying shot as a man holds a golf club and gets ready to hit a golf ball.

The structure is currently referred to as the tennis house in the neighborhood. It is located adjacent to the golf course and tennis courts. Officially known as the Silver Lake Park Field House, the structure is in superb shape and houses the NYC Parks Department’s administration office.
