Bodies found in landing gear of plane that departed JFK, report says

New York’s Staten Island — According to a recent CNN report, two bodies were discovered in the wheel well of a plane that landed in Fort Lauderdale on Monday after departing John F. Kennedy Airport.

CNN reports that the flight arrived at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport shortly after 11 p.m., and ground staff discovered the dead during a maintenance inspection.

According to the publication, the local sheriff’s department determined that both of the bodies were male despite being discovered in a state of decomposition.

The airline stated in a statement that it was still investigating who died and how they entered the landing gear compartment.

JetBlue continued, “This is a tragic circumstance, and we are dedicated to collaborating closely with authorities to assist their efforts to comprehend how this happened.”

It has been difficult for JetBlue lately, as the federal Department of Transportation recently fined the airline for persistent delays, a prohibited unreasonable scheduling practice that, according to the federal agency, can hurt both passengers and fair competition in the airline industry.

For the first time in history, a big or small airline was punished for persistent delays.

Customers impacted by JetBlue’s scheduling issues will receive reimbursement for half of the fine.
