Brooklyn man arrested after driving SUV on LIRR tracks, MTA says

The MTA said Monday that a suspected intoxicated driver had been taken into custody after he drove his vehicle on a section of the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) train rails.

At around 4:50 p.m. on Sunday, Brooklyn resident Basilio Hidalgo, 40, was seen operating a black Honda SUV on the LIRR’s Main Line rails between Bellerose and Floral Park stations, according to the MTA Police Department (MTAPD).
