New York’s Staten Island. The St. George Theatre Restoration, Inc. will re-present its annual Christmas Show at the legendary North Shore venue from Friday, December 13 to Sunday, December 15, since it’s the season when everyone falls in love.
The two-hour, high-energy show, which is in its 21st year, sparkles with a series of well-known Christmas classics and energetic dances that are adorned with rhinestones.
The endearing plot revolves around a grandma reading a Christmas tale to her grandchildren about all the amazing things that happen both visible and invisible throughout the holiday season.
The narrative, which is set in a grandmother’s house, leads the audience through a variety of beautiful settings and situations, including Times Square, Clove Lakes Park, the Rainbow Room, the North Pole, and a Living Nativity.
According to Luanne Sorrentino, co-founder of the St. George Restoration, Inc., “My late mother, Mrs. Rosemary, recognized the importance of presenting a high-quality yet affordable show for the residents of Staten Island in 2004.” It brings us immense joy to be able to contribute to her goal being realized through this presentation.
Doreen P. Cugno, president and CEO of the St. George Theatre Restoration and artistic director of The Christmas Show, noted that the production is enchanting, fun, and extraordinarily joyous.
Above all, it’s still reasonably priced and located on Staten Island. From the amazing cast, crew, and staff to the amazing audience that supports us year after year, we are eternally grateful to everyone who helps make it a success. This year, we’re inviting everyone to join us in celebrating our 21st anniversary performance and see why it’s a tradition worth include in your family’s annual celebrations.
Nearly 125 gifted performers make up the all-volunteer cast of The Christmas Show.
Local favorites including Marcus Simeone, Bill Newstad, Jenny Kelly, Enid Stein, Madison Gattullo, Miss Staten Island 2025, Vinnie Medugno, and of course, the Richmondettes, who are made up of dancers from various businesses around Staten Island, will take the stage.
In addition to well-known songs like We Need a Little Christmas, Let it Snow, Feliz Navidad, and Silver Bells, the production features spiritual pieces like O Holy Night and Go Tell It on the Mountain, which are performed and accompanied by a live orchestra under the direction of Karyn West, the director, and Michael Morreale, the musical director, and choir director Tom Cintula.
In addition to rebuilding the historic structure, the concert raises money for the St. George Theatre Restoration, Inc., a non-profit organization that offers a diverse range of live entertainment and community programming.
Friday, December 13 at 7 p.m., Saturday, December 14 at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m., and Sunday, December 15 at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. are the performance times.
