Celebrate Chanukah 2024 with events hosted by the JCC of Staten Island

New York’s Staten Island. To commemorate Chanukah, the Jewish Festival of Lights, the Joan & Alan Bernikow JCC of Staten Island will organize a number of community activities.

Chanukah commemorates the eight-night-long Maccabees oil miracle. The holiday lasts for eight days and nights, starting in the evening of December 25.

The narrative of Chanukah serves as a potent reminder of how a community may unite and banish darkness by spreading light. As we continue to navigate these challenging times with the ongoing situation in Israel and rising anti-Semitism here in the U.S. it s more important than ever that we bring people together to spread light andsimcha, or joy, said Orit Lender, CEO of the JCC.

The Council of Jewish Organizations of Staten Island collaborates with the JCC to host Chanukah festivities. Events will take place in the Bernikow JCC, located at 1466 Manor Road, unless otherwise specified.
