A comic At a holiday dinner hosted by an Australian millionaire with connections to Staten Island, Chris Rock interrupted his stand-up routine to walk out.
According to the New York Post, billionaire Anthony Pratt of Pratt Industries had a holiday party at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, where Rock surprised everyone by performing.
In Travis, the multinational company has a sizable paper and cardboard recycling facility.
Rock ran out of the stage immediately after taking it, reportedly angered that someone in the audience was taping his set.
Before suddenly concluding his brief concert, Cindy Adams of The Post, who was there at the party, said that Rock saw something that the audience did not.
Adams claimed that he was upset by anything he saw or believed he saw.
She claimed that he briefly lost control and yelled something about not being recorded, filmed, reported, or anything else that wasn’t supposed to occur.
She remembered that he didn’t whine, didn’t give an explanation, and didn’t wait another minute before departing.
Rock was tearing through people to the escape doors with speed and ferocity.
Adams claimed that he continued to b—- loudly and then, without hesitation, walked off, never to be seen again.
Partygoers were treated to a 90-minute scheduled performance by singer (and Nicole Kidman’s husband) Keith Urban after Rock’s withdrawal.
The Travis facility was opened in 1997 by Pratt Industries, of which Anthony Pratt is worldwide chairman. In 2022, the establishment commemorated its 25th anniversary.
In an attempt to get the plant excluded from Local Law 97, which aims to reduce building emissions, Pratt invited Mayor Eric Adams and other dignitaries to the factory that year.
According to the city, the Pratt plant is the main location and processor of recycled paper that the Department of Sanitation collects in 2021.
The recyclable pizza boxes that Pratt manufactures and distributes throughout the five boroughs are maybe what have made the company most famous.
