Christmas kicks off in St. George as hundreds gather for annual Borough Hall tree lighting

New York’s Staten Island. Staten Island Borough President Vito Fossella conducted the Island’s annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony in St. George on Thursday night, and it’s starting to look a lot like Christmas at Borough Hall.

This unique time of year is about uniting as a nation and realizing that, whatever our origins, we all come to this wonderful country to celebrate in peace, joy, camaraderie, and brotherhood. Many of the people in the crowd were drinking hot chocolate when Fosella spoke. We wish you have a pleasant holiday season and remember that we live in the best country in the world.
