New York’s Staten Island. Major roads in our area are experiencing delays due to the clumsy Tuesday morning rush hour caused by fog and wet roads.
AccuWeather.com reports that during the morning rush hour, commuters will encounter precipitation, fog, and temperatures in the 40s.
The rain on Monday had already drenched the roads.
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey reports that traffic is backed up onto the Outerbridge Crossing from the West Shore Expressway.
There has been a reduction in the Goethals Bridge to Staten Island delays. The Port Authority said that the Goethals were clogged by traffic from the Staten Island Expressway.
According to 511 NY, traffic is jammed from Forest Avenue to Willowbrook Road on the Brooklyn-bound Staten Island Expressway as well as on the way to the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge.
Many areas of our borough, notably Howard Avenue on Grymes Hill and the crossroads with Clove Road, are reported to be covered in dense fog.
