Composting rules, congestion pricing on Staten Island Community Board agendas this week

New York’s Staten Island. During public meetings this week, Staten Island’s three Community Boards will discuss a variety of issues, including congestion pricing, composting bin restrictions, and upgrades to a South Shore playground.

The following outlines the plans of each of the Island’s Community Boards:

Community Board 1

The complete board of Community Board 1 will meet on Tuesday, January 14 at 6:30 p.m.

The location of the gathering is St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, located at 347 Davis Avenue in West Brighton. Regular board business will take place, and no special presentation is scheduled.

Community Board 2

On Thursday, January 16, at 7 p.m., the Community Board 2 Public Service and Traffic and Transportation joint committee will meet.

Meeting topics will include the New York City Department of Sanitation container requirements, new composting regulations, and congestion pricing in Manhattan. The meeting will be held in the third-floor conference room at 900 South Ave., Bloomfield.

Community Board 3

On Tuesday, January 14, at 7 p.m., the Parks and Recreation and Environmental Committee of Community Board 3 will hold a public hearing.

Representatives from the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation will discuss a new spray shower at Conference House Park’s Lenape Playground at the meeting.

The meeting will be held on the second floor of the board office located at 1243 Woodrow Road, Woodrow.

Open to the public

The public is welcome to attend any Community Board or committee meeting. They give locals a great chance to find out what’s going on in their neighborhood and the neighboring areas. Additional details regarding the Island’s three Community Boards are provided below:
