Customers are being advised by Costco to return or discard any tainted cucumbers that are sold in its stores right away.
Six-count packets of SunFed brand cucumbers that were packaged and delivered to Costco locations between November 12 and November 27 are the subject of the recall. Salmonella contamination is a possibility with these goods.
A recall of whole fresh American cucumbers of various sizes that were sold in 26 states, including New York and certain areas of Canada, was recently issued by SunFed Produce.
Salmonella is a bacteria that can infect small children, the elderly, and those with compromised immune systems, leading to serious and occasionally deadly infections. Salmonella infections frequently cause fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain in healthy people.
Rarely, a salmonella infection may cause the bacteria to enter the circulation and cause more serious conditions such arthritis, endocarditis, and arterial infections.
Customers can return these products to their local Costco for a complete refund if they don’t eat them.
Customers who bought the recalled products should call SunFed’s recall hotline at 888-542-5849 to get more information.
