STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.—The Healthcare Association of New York State (HANYS) Board of Trustees will continue to include Daniel J. Messina, PhD, FACHE, as President and Chief Executive Officer of Richmond University Medical Center (RUMC).
Having been on the board since 2017, Dr. Messina contributes more than 30 years of healthcare leadership expertise to this crucial position, where he continues to influence the direction of healthcare in New York State.
“Leadership in healthcare is not just about making decisions today, but shaping a healthier future for generations to come,” Dr. Messina stated, reflecting on his continued work with HANYS.
In New York State, HANYS speaks for public and nonprofit hospitals, health systems, and other healthcare providers. The Board of Trustees is crucial in setting the organization’s strategic priorities, promoting laws that tackle major issues facing the healthcare industry, and guaranteeing the provision of creative and fair healthcare throughout the state.

RECENTLY UNVEILED: RUMC WOMEN’S CENTER
Most recently, Richmond University Medical Center formally opened its new Women’s Center for Obstetrics and Gynecology, welcoming community members, medical experts, and local leaders.
The new location is situated at 2935 Veterans Rd. West in Charleston, inside the South Shore Commons Shopping location. With large exam rooms furnished with the newest technology, private consultation rooms, and a cozy waiting and greeting area, the center has a spa-like ambience.
According to Messina, this lovely new location is a haven for women to feel encouraged and cared for at every stage of life, not just a medical office. We are honored to offer our services to the South Shore community, and Dr. Tubman and her staff are truly leaders in their area.
