Dear Abby: How do we avoid slobbery, unwanted kisses from pushy relative?

Greetings, Abby

When he delivers a hug to say hello or leave, my brother-in-law wants to kiss me on the lips. My wife looks away, refusing to accept the kiss. She also doesn’t want him kissing her on the cheek, especially when he’s slobbering with his lips open. When he came racing with the pucker, the majority of his sisters-in-law turn their heads. How can we handle this without making him feel uncomfortable or ashamed? WISCONSIN SMOOCHED

DEAR SMOOCHED:

Could it be frank? It’s necessary to tell those who are so insensitive that they don’t know when a kiss is inappropriate that it’s a turnoff. If the kisser feels embarrassed by it, then so be it. (Awful!)
