Detroit-Style Pizzas and Drinks Are Very Popular on The Embarcadero!

Brothers Jesse and Joshua Jacobs, renowned for their culinary prowess from their successful stint at Samovar Tea Lounge, are set to make waves on San Francisco’s iconic Embarcadero with the launch of Joyride Pizza’s flagship location at Pier 1. Scheduled for a July 4 debut, this momentous opening signifies a significant expansion for the rapidly growing pizza enterprise that originated in 2021.

Joyride Pizza has carved a niche with its Detroit-style pies, characterized by a crispy, caramelized cheese crust and generous toppings that have garnered acclaim far beyond the Bay Area.

From humble beginnings, the Jacobs brothers have scaled their operation, partnering with local breweries such as Barebottle Brew Co. and Gilman Brewing to extend their brand’s reach across diverse neighborhoods.

The Pier 1 venue represents a strategic pivot for Joyride Pizza, which aims to satisfy local cravings and contribute to the ongoing revitalization of downtown San Francisco.

Jesse Jacobs elaborates on their vision, describing Joyride Pizza as a purveyor of comfort food crafted with artisanal precision, accessible and affordable for families and food enthusiasts alike, whether dining in or on the go.

At the heart of Joyride Pizza’s menu are signature creations like the Sweet Heat Pineapple, which earned the team recognition in national pizza competitions, and the savory Bacon Me Crazy, laden with bacon and mushrooms.

New additions to the menu include innovative options such as a Greek-inspired pie featuring artichoke hearts and olives alongside a lighter thin-crust variation catering to diverse dietary preferences, including dairy- and gluten-free choices.

In addition to their celebrated pizzas, Joyride offers a diverse array of culinary delights, including tater tots served with a variety of flavorful dipping sauces and an assortment of fresh salads, from arugula and blue cheese option to a classic Caesar, perfect for health-conscious diners and joggers along the scenic Embarcadero.

Looking forward, Joyride Pizza plans to expand its culinary offerings with the introduction of a breakfast kit featuring gourmet omelets, tater tots, and locally sourced Andytown coffee, complemented by fresh-squeezed orange juice.

The Jacobs brothers also plan to introduce Italian ice and buffalo milk soft serve, providing a refreshing treat for patrons strolling along the waterfront. To complement its culinary offerings, Joyride Pizza boasts a thoughtfully curated beverage selection, including house-made Negronis, spritzes, and a full cocktail menu designed to enhance the dining experience.

Local beer options from Barebottle and wines from Sonoma County’s Hobo Wine Company round out the alcohol offerings. In the future, plans are to expand into non-alcoholic beverages like artisan sodas, kombucha, and potentially no-ABV beers and wines.

The debut of Joyride Pizza at Pier 1 marks a significant milestone for the Jacobs brothers, who are enthusiastic about their role in San Francisco’s cultural and economic resurgence.
