FDNY: 1 person taken to hospital after car reportedly knocks down pole in Grasmere

New York’s Staten Island. A utility pole was knocked down in a crash near Grasmere during Friday morning rush hour, sending one person to the hospital.

According to an FDNY/EMS spokesperson, the collision occurred at 7 a.m. on Mosel Avenue close to Clove Road in front of the Salvation Army Family Store.

The FDNY spokesperson said that someone was taken to Staten Island University Hospital in Ocean Breeze.

At the scene, a dark-colored Infiniti SUV has its front and rear windshields broken and its airbags activated.

In the center of the road is a brown utility pole.

There is caution tape all over the vehicle.

Among the emergency personnel on the site are the FDNY and NYPD.

Emergency radio contacts said the vehicle overturned there.
